C+C Archetype Cocktail

This is the season of colds, flu, stuffy heads and runny noses. Did I miss anything? But let's not let all that get in out way when it comes to Hot Toddy Time! These cocktails are some of the easiest to make. With the addition of citrus and hot water this one will undoubtedly sooth your throat and clear your head. However please don't wait until you or someone you love is under the weather to try this one at home, the change in temperature will suffice.

The word "toddy" comes from the toddy drink in India, produced by fermenting the sap of palm trees. Its earliest known use to mean "a beverage made of alcoholic liquor with hot water, sugar, and spices" is from 1786. So... having that said, the possibilities are endless when it comes to building this cocktail. The Hot Toddy doesn't need to complex but by all means complex away. I wanted to try something a bit different and without any simple syrups but still using the k.i.s.s method. (look it up) After a look around and a scratch on the head I came up with this. Hope you like it as well.

1oz Old Foresters bourbon

3/4oz Giffards Crème de Banane

one dash of ango

lemon peel and whole cloves

Heat up glass with HOT water. Reserve the other 2.5oz for cocktail. dump out glass of water. add remaining ingredients to the glass and pour over the 2.5oz of HOT water.

sip, repeat.
