Amaretto Sour

A drink often overlooked due to the years of terrible sour mixes and or stale lemon juices... even worse bottled lemon juice! Yes this drinks on the sweet side but that doesn't mean its not delicious. For me it makes a perfect brunch cocktail, skip dessert, have an Amaretto Sour. Hell, have dessert and an Amaretto Sour, you're an adult!

Making this straightforward cocktail is pretty simple. Amaretto, Lemon Juice (fresh, fresh, fresh) and Egg Whites, that's it. Now having that said, there tons to great variations but In this case small changes (k.i.s.s method) work best.

So here is my version of this for this often forgotten but absolutely delicious classic cocktail. Enjoy.

1oz Lazzaroni Amaretto

1oz Nardini Almond Grappa

1oz Lemon Juice

.5oz Egg Whites

3 drops of Angostura Bitters

Add first 3 ingredients to a shaker tin and dry shake.

Next add ice to the shaker and shake.

Fill rocks glass with ice and strain cocktail into glass.

Top cocktail with 3 drops of Ango and garnish with cherries.

Cheers!
